Veterans Day Luncheon

On November 10th, 2025, four of our handpicked cadets and Chief Barros from the John D. O’Bryant School had the honor to attend the Veterans Day Luncheon hosted at Wm E. Carter American Legion Post#16. It was a special moment for the cadets to witness and meet many of the veterans who served for our country. During this event, all veterans who attended were celebrated; however it is important to keep in mind that we are also honoring the ones who were not able to attend. Veterans day is an important day to commemorate and honor all military veterans for their service. Originally, it was known as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I on November 11, 1918; but, it was officially changed to Veterans Day in 1954 to recognize all veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces. It’s crucial to remind ourselves that the freedom we enjoy today was secured by the courage and sacrifices that these dedicated veterans made for our country. Each and every veteran’s stories is a powerful reminder that freedom did not come without sacrifice. They show what it means to put others before oneself and to stand up for something greater than themselves. Together, we thank all veterans for your bravery, service, and lasting impact that you’ve made on our nation. Your strength and commitment to our country has continued to inspire so many every single day, and we will forever be grateful for your service. All in all, Veterans’ Day, on November 11th, should be a day to remind everyone about the hard work these dedicated veterans have persevered through and we encourage it to be celebrated by everyone as a way to show their respects.
