On November 2nd, 2025, our John D. O’Bryant’s Orienteering team of NJROTC cadets, along with the Madison Park MCJROTC, conquered the orientation paths organized by the New England Orienteering Club at F. Gilbert Hills State Forest. Despite the chilly autumn weather, each cadet persevered through numerous difficult terrains and fought through any obstacles that came their way. Each group of cadets had only a compass and map to guide them through over 8 checkpoints, yet each of them found their way to the finish line. In addition to their determination, finding each checkpoint one by one, was a friendly competition that drove them to make it to the finish line the quickest. This trip not only taught the cadets about endurance and perseverance, but it also tested them on their teamwork abilities. In the end, we are happy to say that our NJROTC and MCJROTC cadets had a fun time in the friendly competition and accomplishment of this orienteering field trip.
