Massachusetts Maritime Academy

On December 8th, 2025, a handful of cadets had the honor to tour the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, which is a public university in Bourne, Massachusetts. This university focuses on maritime-related fields and specializes in maritime, engineering, and technology-focused education. As one of the seven US state maritime academies, it prepares students for careers in the maritime industry, transportation, engineering, emergency management, and related fields. The academy is known for its regimented lifestyle, which emphasizes leadership, discipline, and teamwork, and for its hands-on, experiential learning approach. Many programs lead to US Coast Guard licenses, allowing graduates to serve as officers in the US Merchant Marine. Cadets were able to experiment and understand what college life specializing in maritime is like.
