9/11 Field Trip 2025

On September 11th, 2025, a handful of cadets from our John D. O’Bryant NJROTC Unit were honored to have participated in the 9/11 Commemoration Event at the Massachusetts State House. A truly tragic terrorist attack occurred on this day twenty-four years ago, where more than 3,000 innocent lives were lost. Unfortunately, as a result of the attack, the Twin Towers in New York collapsed, the Pentagon in Virginia got struck, and many died on the planes hijacked that day including the plane that landed in a field in Pennsylvania. Of the four planes hijacked, two were from Boston’s International Logan Airport, which can feel terrifyingly close to home. We participated in this Commemoration to spread awareness and honor the 3,000 people that lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. In addition, it is a way to pay our respects and gratitude to those first responders who tried helping save those who witnessed the attack. It is a way for the United States to remember the tragedy that has befallen and the cadets were able to demonstrate their respect by offering a salute.
